The purpose of the Aboriginal Waterways Assessment (AWA) program was to develop a tool that consistently measures and prioritises river and wetland health so that Traditional Owners can more effectively participate in water planning and management in the Basin.
This report summarises some of the results of the bank erosion monitoring program on the River Murray between 2009 and 2016. It focuses on areas that are being impacted by high boating activity, in particular the reach south of Corowa to the Ovens Junction.

The Phytoplankton Monitoring Program (PMP) is a key part of the MDBA's integrated physico-chemical and biological water quality monitoring of the River Murray, as defined within the National Water Quality Management Strategy. It allows us to meet obligations under the Murray Darling Basin Agreement and Murray Darling Basin Plan.
