The Murray–Darling Basin Authority met on 4 and 5 February 2019 in Canberra to continue its extensive work program to roll out the Murray–Darling Basin Plan.
The first maps which record Aboriginal land and water cultural activities across areas of the northern Murray–Darling Basin have been handed to traditional owners following a two-year Murray–Darling Basin Authority (MDBA) project to document these activities.

The purpose of the Aboriginal Waterways Assessment (AWA) program was to develop a tool that consistently measures and prioritises river and wetland health so that Traditional Owners can more effectively participate in water planning and management in the Basin.
