This is a review of the hydrological models that underpin the Barwon-Darling Watercourse water resource plan that was submitted to the Murray–Darling Basin Authority in June 2020. The 2 most important of these models were the Baseline Diversion Limit model and the Annual Permitted Take model. This review was prepared to assist the Murray–Darling Basin Authority in their appraisal of the Barwon-Darling Watercourse water resource plan prior to its accreditation and implementation under the Basin Plan.

The MDBA has commissioned a series of literature reviews examining the status of water-related science across the Basin. The literature reviews undertaken by independent academics provide an overview and analysis of scholarly works relevant to the Basin Plan.
This guidance list and map show the Traditional Owners Groups for each water resource plan area. The map was produced in conjunction with Murray Lower Darling Rivers Indigenous Nations and Northern Basin Aboriginal Nations.
Our 6 regional community forums gathered recently to learn about the Roadmap to the 2026 Basin Plan Review and contribute their knowledge and insights to key phases of work informing the Review.
Last month the Lake Victoria Advisory Committee met at Lake Victoria (Tar-Ru) for its 100th meeting, and to celebrate the retirement of the committee’s longstanding Chairperson, Jane Lennon.
