Water resource plans are an integral part of implementing the Basin Plan. They set new rules on how much water can be taken from the system, ensuring the sustainable diversion limit is not exceeded over time.
The Basin Officials Committee (BOC) met virtually on 14 April 2023.

The Murray–Darling Basin Authority met on 31 March 2023 on Ngunnawal Country (Canberra). All members were present.
In May 2020, the MDBA released its Sustainable diversion limit accounting improvement strategy 2020–2025, in response to the findings and recommendations of the SDL accounting ‘health check’ – independent panel review in 2019.
