The MDBA has commissioned a series of literature reviews examining the status of water-related science across the Basin. The literature reviews undertaken by independent academics provide an overview and analysis of scholarly works relevant to the Basin Plan.
This guidance list and map show the Traditional Owners Groups for each water resource plan area. The map was produced in conjunction with Murray Lower Darling Rivers Indigenous Nations and Northern Basin Aboriginal Nations.
Our 6 regional community forums gathered recently to learn about the Roadmap to the 2026 Basin Plan Review and contribute their knowledge and insights to key phases of work informing the Review.
The Murray–Darling Basin Authority (MDBA) expect a likely shortfall of between 190 and 315 gigalitres of environmental water for the Basin when reconciliation of the Sustainable Diversion Limit Adjustment Mechanism (SDLAM) is undertaken in 2024.
