Review of cost shares for joint activities

The review was conducted by Michael Buckley with the assistance of Garry Smith of DG Consulting, who were engaged by the Basin Officials Committee on behalf of the Murray Darling Basin Ministerial Council.

The cost shares are agreed funding shares contributed by each jurisdiction in the Murray–Darling Basin toward the Joint Programs. They are based on a set of principles outlined in the Murray–Darling Basin Agreement, which is set out as Schedule 1 to the Water Act 2007 (Cth) (Water Act). The cost shares are reviewed every five years to ensure they are still consistent with the cost share principles.
