The Murray-Darling Basin Authority (MDBA) proposes amendments to the Basin Plan.
The proposed amendments arise from several reviews, or are technical amendments proposed to ensure the smooth operation of the Basin Plan. The proposed amendments include changes based on the Australian Government's response to the independent review of the Water Act 2007 (Cth). This plain English summary explains the proposed amendments and their effects. It also provides an outline of the scientific knowledge and social and economic analysis on which the amendments are based. The MDBA has also prepared a draft compilation of the Basin Plan which shows the proposed amendments in context.
