The Murray–Darling Basin Authority’s (MDBA) position statement on floodplain harvesting outlines the expectations of the MDBA and how this water use occurs.
The MDBA expects any floodplain harvesting in the Basin would be within the limits in the Basin Plan. The management and measurement of water use from floodplains remains an important part of the states’ compliance reporting responsibilities.
