New features go LIVE on the Murray–Darling Basin Water Information Portal

You can now get all your information from the one place, instead of going to many different websites.

The Bureau of Meteorology has added new features to the Murray–Darling Basin Water Information Portal, including First Nation’s Cultural information, photographs of rivers and water storage infrastructure, more river diagrams, and information on dissolved oxygen at nearly 30 sites, and ground water quality and groundwater use.

The portal supports Basin water users and communities through greater transparency and better access to water information. It provides a central source of Basin-wide information in the one website, so you no longer need to go to multiple websites to find what you need.

You can search the portal by current location or by town, river, water storage or catchment, and compare current and historical information on water markets, allocation volumes, water in storages, water quality and more.

Optimised for mobile, tablet and desktop, the portal is easy to navigate and includes interactive river diagrams that show detailed information on river flow and water availability.

Using a community-centred approach, the features and functionality were designed in consultation with users to ensure it meets your needs.

The Bureau has developed the portal via the collaborative efforts of the Hydrometric Networks and Remote Sensing Program, a $35 million package of works to provide water licence holders, compliance officers and the public with better access to more accurate information and allow for more robust and consistent assessment of water use and compliance in the northern Basin.
