Interested in protecting native fish in the Murray–Darling Basin? You’ll want to check out the Native Fish Forum in Canberra later this month.
The 3-day event is presented by Finterest and will showcase the work of the Native Fish Recovery Strategy and share information about the ongoing activities to support native fish.
MDBA Basin Science and Knowledge Assistant Director, Stuart Little said the event is a wonderful opportunity reflect, share and collaborate on recovery actions.
“More people than ever recognise how vital native fish are to sustaining the Murray–Darling Basin and are interested in learning more about native fish restoration work.
“We have seen the impacts of fish deaths in recent years and the slow decline of species over many decades, but we have also seen the amazing benefits of our recovery actions. This is an event to share knowledge of native fish restoration efforts and to learn from one another.”

Restoring native fish to secure and sustainable levels in the Basin will need enduring, collaborative conservation efforts. By attending the Forum you’ll learn more about what’s been working well, the top priorities, and where efforts can be focussed for the biggest impact.
