The part-time officer started in July and is being hosted by the South Australian Murray–Darling Basin Natural Resources Management (SAMDB NRM) board.
MDBA Chief Executive, Phillip Glyde, said the appointment of local, Monique White, will help to continue to strengthen connections, understanding and information sharing between the MDBA and regional communities in the Basin.
"Ms White is a fantastic addition to the REO pilot program, with over 20 years' experience working with SA communities, a degree in Agriculture Science and as a local consultant with strong industry and community links," Mr Glyde said.
"The REO program is now in the second half of its pilot, with seven officers covering different areas of the Basin and working with local communities.
"The MDBA is receiving valuable information through the program which we are incorporating into the way we communicate, engage and share information.
"If you haven't yet had the opportunity to meet with Ms White, she will be attending the Riverland Field Days in September."
The REO program is part of the MDBA's commitment to strengthen its regional presence and links with Basin communities.
Regional offices were also opened in Toowoomba, Queensland, Albury-Wodonga, on the NSW and Victorian border, and Adelaide, South Australia in early July.
