Mitta Mitta Flow Advice – 2 October 2023

Releases from Dartmouth Dam will increase to 8,500 ML/day today to manage airspace ahead of forecast rain.

Landholders and river users, including pumpers, on the Mitta Mitta River are advised to take into account the forecast releases of water from Dartmouth Dam and make any necessary adjustment to their river activities.

Releases from Dartmouth Dam will increase to 8,500 ML/day today to manage airspace ahead of forecast rain. From Monday 2 October 2023 the MDBA will gradually increase releases from the current rate of 6,000 ML/day, to target 8,500 ML/day (measured at Colemans gauge). In the coming days, flows may approach channel capacity at Tallandoon. Further updates will be provided as required.

Please note system conditions may change over the coming days. Another flow advice will be issued as release requirements change.

If you are observing bank erosion around key assets on your property, as a result of the higher river flows, please call the North-East Catchment Management Authority. They implement a riparian program in conjunction with the MDBA.
