Increase in release from Dartmouth Reservoir for the purposes of electricity generation – 23 August 2021

Published: 23 August 2021

AGL in conjunction with River Murray Operations announced today that releases from Dartmouth Reservoir will be increased for the purposes of Electricity Generation.

The current discharge at Coleman's Gauge of 500 Ml/d or 1.17 M gauge height will be gradually increased to 1000Ml/d or 1.41 M gauge height, commencing 15:30 hrs on 23/08/2021

This increase is expected to result in the flow at Tallandoon rising to approximately 2200Ml/d or 1.99M gauge height.

The duration of the increased releases for electricity generation is until approx. 16:00 Thursday 26/8/2021 but will be dependent upon electricity demand in the near future. A further flow advice will be issued when there is a significant change to the release program. On reduction at this point the river will probably return to 200ML/d or .90M gauge height at Colemans.
