The Southern Connected Basin Environmental Watering Committee (SCBEWC) coordinates the delivery of water for the environment in the River Murray System across multiple environmental water holders and jurisdictions.
The recent release of the Committee’s annual report details highlights for the 2020–21 year including:
- Improved inflows to many river systems compared to the previous 3 years but many floodplains remain stressed.
- Murray Lower Darling Rivers Indigenous Nations joined SCBEWC to strengthen links to First Nations.
- 34 coordinated watering events between water holders.
