Connecting with the community at Riverina Field Days

The MDBA was at the Riverina Field Days recently to share with, and learn from, the local community.

The Riverina Field Days in Griffith is one of those annual events that has something for everyone.

It brings the local community together and showcases the latest gadgets, products, technologies, machinery and information for the agriculture sector and the community in general.

Water is often a point of discussion, so we go along for the opportunity to build new relationships and nourish established ones.

Connecting with the local community, businesses and industries is an important part of our work.

Staff from our Griffith office caught up with a range of locals and visitors at the MDBA booth to discuss water management and the Basin Plan.

The team got plenty of questions during the 2 days, with lots of interest in what’s happening in the Riverina and what’s on the horizon for the MDBA.

Locals were seeking updates on river infrastructure and wanted to understand more about the removal of salt from the rivers through salt inception schemes.

Our 2023 graduates were on hand as well, meeting members of the community and gaining a better understanding of what’s important to people living and working in this Basin community.

We attend field days throughout the Murray–Darling Basin to share information and learn more about the challenges and opportunities that are unique to each community.
