Authority Chair, the Hon Neil Andrew AO, was pleased to have the opportunity to convene the meeting in South Australia to further discuss the Basin Plan and hear local views.
"The MDBA is committed to increasing our regional presence and hearing from Basin communities," Mr Andrew said.
"Last night we met with industry, natural resource bodies, government officials as well as Riverland and Murrayland community members.
"Today we will discuss key work, including the Sustainable Diversion Limit Adjustment Mechanism, the evaluation of the Basin Plan, river operations, compliance performance and Water Resource Plans."
The Authority is also pleased to announce that the MDBA's Andrew Reynolds has replaced outgoing head of river operations, David Dreverman, who retired last week.
MDBA Chief Executive, Phillip Glyde, said Mr Reynolds worked in river management alongside Mr Dreverman for almost four years and has deep knowledge of the Basin.
"Mr Reynolds has worked in river asset management for 23 years and has developed strong working relationships with communities and industry," Mr Glyde said.
"Previous to working at the MDBA, Mr Reynolds worked at Goulburn–Murray Water and has experience in project management, design, construction and rehabilitation of major water supply infrastructure.
"I'd like to congratulate Mr Reynolds on his appointment and look forward to working with him further in his new role."
Mr Glyde also wished David Dreverman well in retirement, after 17 years with the MDBA and the previous Murray–Darling Basin Commission.
"Mr Dreverman has over 40 years' experience in engineering and river asset management," Mr Glyde said.
"He will certainly leave an enduring legacy and I thank him for his ongoing commitment to the integrity of the Basin's river operations.
"On behalf of the MDBA staff and Authority members, I wish him all the best in his retirement."
Andrew Reynolds officially started in the role on 1 September 2017.
