Water resource plans are an integral part of implementing the Basin Plan. They set new rules on how much water can be taken from the system, ensuring the sustainable diversion limit is not exceeded over time.
In May 2020, the MDBA released its Sustainable diversion limit accounting improvement strategy 2020–2025, in response to the findings and recommendations of the SDL accounting ‘health check’ – independent panel review in 2019.
